Poor Life
“Poor life” is one of nine works of art that have been exhibited at Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts of painter Đỗ Mạnh Cương.
Followed the Cubism which means showing the object under different views at the same time and had a combination of neutral colors, this painting exposes the harsh life that Vietnamese people had to endured during the war.
A sorrow appeared on the women’s faces because of the burden of taking care of the children alone put on her shoulder. The children’s eyes show a depression for their reality and for their future.
